Older homes and big trees
Fort Myers has far more mature tree cover than most of the Cape. In the neighborhoods along McGregor Boulevard and around the river district, live oaks spread over roofs and drop leaves every spring, and older homes often have original sectional gutters, small downspouts and fascia that has been painted over rot more than once. Those are the homes where we do the most repair and where guards earn their keep.
Newer communities east of I-75
Out toward Gateway, the Colonial Boulevard corridor and the gated communities along Daniels Parkway, homes are newer and mostly tile-roofed, often two stories, with HOAs that specify gutter colors. There the work is mostly upgrading builder gutters to 6" or 7" seamless, adding downspouts where the builder skimped, and running underground drains so the water doesn’t pool in shared lawns.
Low ground and storm water
Parts of Fort Myers near the river and in the older low-lying neighborhoods flood in heavy rain, and Hurricane Ian in 2022 left a lot of homes with damaged gutters and fascia. If your yard holds water after a storm, where the downspouts discharge matters as much as the gutters. We plan the drainage with the grade, not against it.
