In short: gutter cleaning in Cape Coral costs about $125–$250 for a single-story home and $200–$375 for two stories, as estimates. Most homes need it once or twice a year; houses under oaks, pines or queen palms may need it more often. The best time is April or May, before the rainy season.

Plants and debris growing in a gutter along a roof edge
Left long enough, roof grit and leaves turn into soil, and things start to grow in it.

What a cleaning includes

  1. Debris scooped out by hand, bagged, and taken away, not blown across the roof and into the pool.
  2. Each downspout flushed with a hose until the water runs clear at the bottom.
  3. Elbows and underground drain inlets checked for packed debris.
  4. A look along every run for loose hangers, failed corner seals and standing water.
  5. A note of anything that needs fixing, with photos, so you can decide what to do about it.

What clogs gutters here

Cape Coral doesn’t get a northern fall, but it does get a steady supply of debris. Live oaks drop leaves in spring when the new growth pushes them off. Queen palms and royal palms shed seed stalks and fruit that wedge in the outlets. Slash pines drop needles that knit together into mats. And on concrete tile and shingle roofs, the granules and grit washed off in every storm settle in the gutter as a dark silt that turns to mud. That silt is what we find most, even on lots with no trees at all.

How often to clean

  • Open lot, no trees overhanging: once a year, before June.
  • A few palms nearby: once or twice a year.
  • Oaks or pines over the roof: two or three times a year, or fit gutter guards.
  • After a named storm: check them, because wind loads gutters with debris in a single night.

Why a clogged gutter matters in Florida

When a gutter is full, rain goes over the front edge and lands in a line along the base of the wall. On a slab home that soaks the soil against the stem wall, splashes dirt up the stucco and floods the planting beds. Standing water in a blocked gutter also breeds mosquitoes within a week in summer heat. Clean gutters are the cheapest fix for both.

Gutter cleaning: common questions

Do you clean gutters on two-story homes?

Yes. We use stand-off ladder brackets so the ladder doesn’t lean on the gutter itself.

Should I be home during the cleaning?

No need, as long as we can reach the side and back yards. We’ll call when we’re done and send photos.

Will you clean out my underground drains too?

We flush the inlet and run water through. A drain that’s packed solid or crushed needs a separate repair, and we’ll tell you if yours does.
