Price per foot, or price per house?
Gutters are measured and priced by the linear foot, but most homeowners want to know the total. A single-story Cape Coral home of 1,800 to 2,200 square feet usually has 160 to 220 feet of gutter, depending on how many corners and how much of the roofline drains to the front versus the back. Many homes here only have gutters on part of the house, over the entry, the garage and the lanai, which brings the total down. Ask for both the footage and the total on any quote, so you can compare.
A worked example
Take a single-story Cape Coral pool home with a hip roof: about 180 feet of gutter around the house, five downspouts, and a super gutter along the back where the cage meets the roof. At 6" seamless and the middle of our per-foot range, the house gutters come to roughly $2,500 to $3,100 including the five downspouts. Resealing the super gutter adds a few hundred dollars, and one underground line taking the front downspout to the lawn adds around $600. Those are illustrations built from the ranges on this page, not a quote; a measure tells you the real figures.
What moves the price on a Cape Coral job
- Size. 7" costs more per foot than 6", and needs larger downspouts.
- Roof type. Tile roofs need careful ladder placement and tighter hanger spacing. On metal roofs, hangers are fastened through the fascia so the panels are never pierced.
- Height. Two-story walls take longer and need more setup.
- Corners and outlets. Every mitered corner and downspout outlet is hand work.
- Fascia condition. Rotted boards are replaced before gutters go back up.
- Drainage. Underground lines and long extensions are priced by the foot.
Why gutter quotes disagree
Two quotes for the same house can be far apart because they describe different jobs. A low number may be 5" sectional gutter with 2×3 downspouts and spike hangers. A higher one may be 6" seamless with 3×4 downspouts, hidden hangers every 24 inches and fascia repairs included. Ask every company to write down the gutter size, the downspout size and count, the hanger type and spacing, and whether old gutter removal and fascia repair are in the price. When those lines match, the totals usually land close together.
Price questions
How much do new gutters cost in Cape Coral?
About $8–$13 per foot installed for 6" seamless aluminum and $11–$17 for 7". A typical single-story home with downspouts lands at $1,700–$3,400, as an estimate.
Why are 7" gutters more expensive?
Wider coil, heavier hangers set closer together, and larger outlets. On big tile roofs they’re often worth it because they stop overflow a 6" gutter can’t.
Is gutter cleaning included with installation?
New gutters don’t need it. If you’re adding guards to existing gutters, the gutters are cleaned first, and that is priced as its own line.
Do you charge for the estimate?
No. The on-site measure and written quote are free.
