In short: most gutter repairs in Cape Coral are a single visit costing $150–$450: resealing leaking corners, refastening or replacing hangers, correcting the pitch, or reattaching a downspout. Replacing a damaged length runs $10–$20 per foot. These are estimates, confirmed after we look at the gutter.

The repairs we do most
- Leaking corners and end caps. Old sealant shrinks and cracks in the sun. We clean back to bare metal, rivet the joint tight and reseal it.
- Sagging runs. Spike-and-ferrule gutters loosen as the spikes back out of the fascia. We replace them with screw-in hidden hangers.
- Water standing in the gutter. A run with no fall, or one that has sunk in the middle, holds water and grows mold. We reset the pitch toward the outlet.
- Storm damage. A bent or torn section is cut out and a new length is fitted, matched to the profile and color where the coil maker still makes it.
- Loose downspouts. New straps, new elbows, and the outlet resealed.
Repair or replace?
A repair is worth it when the problem is local: one corner, one sag, one dented section. Replacement makes more sense when the system is sectional and leaking at most of its joints, when it’s 5" and overflowing in every storm, or when it’s been patched so many times that the next leak is only a matter of weeks. We’ll show you what we see from the ladder, photos included, and give you both prices if both are reasonable.
Fascia behind the gutter
Water that gets behind a gutter for long enough rots the fascia board it hangs from, and once the wood is soft no hanger will hold. On older Cape Coral homes we often find fascia that looks fine painted but crumbles when a screw goes in. Replacing a length of fascia typically runs $8–$20 per foot before the gutter goes back up. Loose or missing soffit panels nearby are worth fixing at the same time, because they let wasps and rats into the attic.
Repair price guide
| Job | Estimated price | What moves it |
|---|---|---|
| Repair visit: reseal, rehang or re-pitch | $150–$450 | Number of joints, height |
| Replace a damaged section | $10–$20 / ft | Profile and color match |
| Fascia board replacement | $8–$20 / ft | Board size, paint |
| Downspout reattached or replaced | $120–$250 | Length, elbows |
These repair figures are estimates. A two-story ladder setup or a roof that can’t be walked adds time. We give you the price before the work starts, never after.
After a named storm
Gutter damage after a hurricane often turns out to be part of a wider roof or fascia problem. If you are making an insurance claim, photograph the damage before anything is moved, and ask us for a written description of what we find. We don’t tell you what your policy covers; we make sure the paperwork describes the damage clearly.
Gutter repair: common questions
Why do my gutters overflow even though they’re clean?
Usually the gutter or the downspouts are too small for the roof area feeding them, or the run has lost its pitch. Both are fixable without replacing everything.
Can you match my existing gutter color?
Usually, if it’s a standard color. Faded gutters can look different from new coil even when the color code matches, so we may suggest replacing a whole wall rather than a single piece.
Do you repair gutters you didn’t install?
Yes. Most of our repair work is on gutters someone else put up.
